September 2006: Katoomba high street, NSW, Australia. Even the most cursory glances around this seemingly ordinary town will reveal a treasure trove of Art Deco archetectural oddities. From the Paragon tea-rooms to the cinemas to the many private homes that sport themed facades in nothing more complex than the brickwork, this is a town to be marvelled at. Even this simple gate leading nowhere in particular has a strong Art Deco feel. What this tells us is how easily it is to make our surroundings ascthetically pleasing.
